Stranger Things is a Netflix original sci-fi show that takes place in the made up town of Hawkins, Illinois, in the early 80s. It follows the adventures of a group of boys who love playing DND and have a passion for all things weird and different. Mike Wheeler (portrayed by Finn Wolfhard), Lucas Sinclair (portrayed by Caleb McLaughlin), Dustin Henderson (portrayed by Gaten Matarazzo), and Will Byers (portrayed by Noah Schnapp) go on an unusual adventure during the first few episodes of the first season, but things seem to take a turn for the worst when people start going missing, one of them being Will Byers himself. The boy’s friends, with the help of a new friend Eleven (portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown), set off to find and face the Demogorgon, the creature that took Will. Throughout the first season the boys go through a lot, thinking their friend is dead, and start to lose hope. By the end of the first season, Will is found and alive. Throughout the next two seasons, the group, minus Eleven, have to face off with a creature called the mindflayer. Along the way they meet the new girl in school, Max Mayfield (portrayed by Sadie Sink), who is a wild soul and fits in perfectly with the boys. Her older step brother, Billy Hargrove (portrayed by Dacre Montgomery), ends up falling victim to the mindflayer in the third season of the show, though he is able to break out of its control and save the kids just before the creature is defeated.
