Hunter was selected to perform with the Texas All-State Small School Choir in San Antonio, on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the Henry B. González Convention Center as part of the 2024 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention.
Hunter was chosen for this prestigious honor through a competitive process held this year across the state at the District, Region, and Area levels.
Hunter is a senior and sings under the direction of Sherri Pickering who is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, a 14,000+ member organization headquartered in Austin.
This is Hunter’s second time to perform as a member of a TMEA All-State organization. Hunter is the child of Brett and Cheri Rose.
High school students selected to perform in the All-State concerts have competed through auditions to qualify at the state level. All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive. 1,875 students were selected through a process that began with over 70,000 students from around the state vying for this honor to perform in one of 18 ensembles.
Members of the LEHS Varsity Choir competed at Region IV UIL Solo and Ensemble contest on February 3, 2024. They earned 30 superior ratings and 7 excellent ratings. Thirty of those medals are state-bound!

Abria Allison, Kai’Rihanna Avery, J’Shun Beed, Jacob Berry, Secundino Cortez, William Day, Rashad Ganter, Omarjuarian Hayden, Kyvory Houff, Tianna Kennedy, Noah Massey, Hunter Rose, Rebecca Plattner and Sammie Shields.

These students will compete again at UIL State Solo and Ensemble in May. Congratulations on a job well done!
The LEHS Varsity Choir competed at UIL Region IV Concert and Sight-reading Contest held at Mount Pleasant High School on March 5, 2024. The choir received 1st Division Ratings from all six judges earning them the coveted UIL Sweepstakes Award! This is the highest award a high school choir can receive in the state! Congratulations on a job well done!!!
