The Lady Leopards' sprint relay team won gold at the 2022 UIL State track and field meet. The team, consisting of Indiyah Aldridge, Nevaeh Hill, Janiya Sandersa nd Laqukeisha Jeffery, turned in a time of 47.17 seconds to claim the championship. Waxahachie Life School finished second in the 4x100 mile relay, posting a time of 47.49 and the Lady Yellow Jackets from Stephenville came in 3rd.
The victory was especially sweet for the team considering they were second to Waxahachie Life at the Regional meet two weeks prior. The 1st place finish was the first state championship for the Lady Leopard track program since the 2019 season and the time of 47.17 was the fastest sprint relay times in 4A at any point this season.

Put me in coach........I'm ready to play!!
This group of kids were able to finish second in district which allowed them to get a good playoff draw and they ended up making it to the regional semi-finals. They went through hard times and found ways to overcome obstacles in order to make a great postseason run. It did not end the way we liked but this group made a statement that last year was not a fluke and that this program is here to stay. -Coach Zach Fowler
