Senior Spotlight

Several seniors are selected for each issue of the newspaper to be spotlighted.

Stormey King 

List any special memories from high school

My late best friend Kailin Fuller and I  used to walk the halls laughing with joy; my Houston competition for Cosmetology.

Plans after graduation?

MY plans are to become a barber and attend nursing school in hopes of owning my own business and to be successful. 

What would you like to accomplish in your lifetime?

I want to accomplish my dreams of having a successful business. Also, I need to get my license in cosmetology and barbering.

Any advice for upcoming freshmen?

Don't be in the mix, keep your group small, focus on your work, and think about how you want your school year to be. Stay focused!

Do you think you left an impact at Liberty Eylau High School?

I do think I left an impact and I hope I made a good mark at Liberty Eylau.

Any final thoughts about being a senior?

As a senior, I can say I've learned a lot throughout my life. I've had many memories. It's a chance for me to look back on all my growth and accomplish more while going into the real world.

Austin Colley 

List any special memories from high school

Getting to see my friends and bothering Mr. Mitchell all the time.

Plans after graduation?

Hopefully attending college and majoring in Aerospace Engineering, with a minor in Mechanical Engineering. 

What would you like to accomplish in your lifetime?

To make enough money that I never have to tell my kids "no" simply because I can't afford it.

Any advice for upcoming freshmen?

Do your work and don't let what people say get to you.

Do you think you left an impact at Liberty Eylau High School?

Not really, but you never know.

Any final thoughts about being a senior?

I'm honestly ready to leave high school, but I'll also kind of miss the structure of school. 

Kaci Otwell

List any special memories from high school

Playing softball for the first time my sophomore year. It became my favorite sport in a very short amount of time…then topped it off by hitting a home run my junior year.

Plans after graduation?

Go to college to become an x-ray technician. 

what would you like to accomplish in your lifetime?

I want to be successful in my career and have a happy family. 

Any advice for upcoming freshmen?

Enjoy it while it lasts because before you know it, it’ll be over.

Do you think you left an impact at Liberty Eylau High School?

I'm not sure, but I hope so!

Any final thoughts about being a senior?

It’s both a good and bad feeling knowing that you made it but also knowing that the people you’ve been around your whole life are all about to part ways.

Collin Evans

List any special memories from high school

State runner-ups, winning a state championship, going deep into playoffs in football and baseball bus rides. 

Plans after graduation?

I want to play college baseball, and then go into the engineering field. 

What would you like to accomplish in your lifetime?

I would to have financial freedom; own a business; invest; have full faith in Jesus Christ, a wife and kids, and be at peace.

Any advice for upcoming freshmen?

Just lock in, it won't last long.

Do you think you left an impact at Liberty Eylau High School?

Yes, I do. 

Any final thoughts about being a senior?

It goes by fast. I enjoyed all the teams I played for and I appreciate all my teachers. 

Kendale Ford

List any special memories from high school

One of my favorite memories was freshmen year when I ran track and  my team finished first place in the 4x400 relay.

Plans after graduation?

My plans after graduation are to pursue a career in the United States military. 

What would you like to accomplish in your lifetime?

One thing I would like to accomplish in my lifetime is to build my own house one day.

Any advice for upcoming freshmen?

Keep your head down and stay focused. You might think about quitting, but the reward is worth it. 

Do you think you left an impact at Liberty Eylau High School?

Yes, I think I left an impact on the younger class by letting them know it is possible to graduate. 

Any final thoughts about being a senior?

My final thoughts about being a senior? I wish I could go back to being a freshman because now that I am graduating, I'm going to miss it.

Abigail Cockrell

List any special memories from high school

One of my favorite memories from high school is when our softball team made it to the playoffs, even though we didn't make it past the first game. I still enjoyed the experience. 

Plans after graduation?

My dream would be to go off to college and play softball; however, I will go the trade school route at Texarkana College or A & M/Texarkana.  

What would you like to accomplish in your lifetime?

I would like to own my own floral business in the future. 

Any advice for upcoming freshmen?

It gets so much easier so don't stress too hard your junior/senior years. 

Do you think you left an impact at Liberty Eylau High School?

I 'm not entirely sure, but I hope that made a positive difference in some way.  

Any final thoughts about being a senior?

When people tell you, "It goes by fast," .....believe them.
