Trip to Ledwell on Feb. 17

Mostly sophomores, along with a few juniors from the Construction Trades and Welding I classes, recently toured Ledwell & Son. The group was accompanied by CTE Director Ricky Rushing, Construction Trades Instructor David Moulton, and Welding Instructor Ray Howell.

During the visit, students were guided by Cliff Harvey, Ledwell’s Trailer Shop Supervisor, and Amado Azua, Ledwell’s Human Resource Supervisor. Students participated in a group session where they learned about the history of Ledwell, explored career opportunities within the company, and watched videos highlighting the many aspects of the company’s work, as well as its beliefs, vision, and mission.

They were also allowed to ask questions and learn more about employee benefits, expectations, pay, and retirement opportunities. Following the session, students toured each building at the Ledwell facility and learned about the many products manufactured at the plant.

After the tour, the students enjoyed lunch together at CiCi’s Pizza, where they had the chance to talk about what they learned, share their favorite parts of the tour, and build relationships between the two classes.
