LACEY GOFF
Lacey Goff has been teaching Chemistry for eleven years and her classroom is on the east campus room 206. Lacey spent her teenage years at Hooks High School and proceeded to college at the University of Arkansas, where she majored in business management. Mrs. Goff realized she wanted to “offer so much more” to young people and becoming a teacher allows her the opportunties to help students. She realized that she had an expertise at training new employees and giving them instruction. Mrs. Goff values traveling with her family to the beach and other nature sites in her leisure time. Mrs. Goff taught at our middle school campus for ten years and is excited to see her former students mature and wants to let them know that she is proud of them.
NIDIA COLEMAN
Nidia Coleman has taught students for two years. As of now she teaches math models and Algebra I EOC in room 7 on west campus. She is a former high school student of LEISD (graduated in 2002) and spent her college years at Texas A&M here in Texarkana. Coleman states that she always had the passion of reaching and teaching individuals. In the year 2011, she went back to school to become a teacher- acquiring a Master’s in education and a Bachelor's in psychology. Her hobbies include: working out, yoga and spending time with her family. Coleman believes that “being relatable is a crucial aspect of being a leader to our students in this day and age.”
KRISTI BROWN
Kristi Brown is an assistant principal at our West Campus Office. This is her twenty-first year in education. She attended Arkadelphia High School in Arkansas and followed with college at Henderson State University. While attending HSU in 1993, Ms. Brown knew she was destined to graduate and attend law school; however, she took an introduction class and worked with kids and then realized this was her calling. Ms. Brown majored in Elementary education and minored in Social Studies. She loves to read, spend time with her family and shop when she has the chance. Ms. Brown is proud to be a leopard, “I feel like I am right at home at Liberty-Eylau.” This assistant principal definitely has some leopard pride!
TREY NORMAN
Trey Norman teaches Personal Finance 1 and Physical Education in room 12, located in the west gym. Norman knew he wanted to teach while he attended high school here at Liberty-Eylau (graduated in 2011). He played football all four years at the University of Wyoming (go brown and gold) where he majored in communication. "The weather in Wyoming was defintely different and it took time to adjust to the extreme cold. I was 17 hours away I was not able to visit home (Texarkana) that often. Norman enjoys spending time with his dog in his leisure time.
STASIK VAUGHN
This coach teaches Physical Education, ninth grade football, boys basketball and ISS. You can find him at our very own middle school or our school gym. Vaughn has been teaching/coaching for 13 years, went to school in Maud, Texas and Liberty-Eylau ISD and graduated from LE in 1987. He attended college at Texas A&M while majoring in Behavioral Science. In his leasure time, he enjoys being with his family and fishing. Vaughn's family has five state championship rings- three in track, one in girl's basketball and one in boy's football.
TOMEKA BLOCK
Tomeka Block teaches Content Mastery at west campus in room eleven and has taught for five years. She attended Hot Springs High School and went to college at Oakwood University, where she realized she wanted to teach young minds. She majored in Human Development and Family Studies. In Mrs. Block's free time, she likes to read, travel and volunteer. A quote she lives by is, “Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.” by Robin Williams.
BARRY BASSETT
Barry Bassett teaches English III in room 5 and has been in the educational realm for over 26 years. He began as a Biology teacher with our district and added a prinicipal certification after a few years of being in the classroom. He has been an assistant principal, head principal and superintendent . He is now back with LEISD and is reunited with instructors who appreciate his enthusiasm and love for students. Bassett attended Avery High School and attended college at Texas A&M-Texarkana, where he majored in English and Biology. After working in the private sector, he realized his passion is with students and the rest..... is history. During his leisure time he enjoys sports and relaxing while reading a good book.
DORA BASSETT
Dora Bassett teaches Spanish in the east gym, room E1. Dora graduated from Dalhart high school and attended college at Texas A&M in Commerce, Texas where she majored in Home Economics and Business Administration. She realized she wanted to influence young minds after she had her own children. Dora began her career in teaching here at Liberty Eylau in 1999 and has taught for 18 years, and has worked at many different schools because her husband, Barry Bassett, was advancing his career and it required them to move often. During her free time, she likes to cook for her family, cycle, go to music concerts and crochet. "I am proud to be back home at LEISD."
KENDRA CULLUM
Kendra Cullum teaches Social Media Marketing along with Sports Entertainment and Marketing in the CTE building, room 307. This is her first year teaching the high school level. She went to high school at Conroe High School and graduated college from the University of Houston where she played softball and majored in Sports Administration. She has wanted to coach all of her life and she believes that coaching is a lot like teaching in the classroom. During her free time, she enjoys watching football, going to Texas country concerts and relaxing in any way possible. Kendra quoted: “I believe that the greatest gift you can give someone is your time because when a person gives their time, they are giving a part of themselves that they will never get back. I hope students/athletes understand how much we care about them with how much time we are investing in them.”
MALISSA REESE
Malissa Reese is an academic advisor on west campus and has worked in education for over 14 years. Mrs. Reese attended high school here at Liberty-Eylau and attended college at Southern Arkansas University/Magnolia. After majoring in Accounting, she decided she wanted to teach business classes. For Reese’s leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her three kids, sports and swimming. Malissa Reese enjoys teaching at the school where she began her education and touching the hearts of the students she gets to meet.
JODI POMPA
Jodi Pompa is the academic advisor and her office is located in the library. She helps with college for eleventh graders and this is her first year pursuing this career. Pompa attended Liberty-Eylau for high school and attended college at Texas Christian University, where she majored in advertising and minored in psychology. She realized she wanted to work for Liberty-Eylau when she saw a posting for the job during this past summer. Pompa has owned and ran several small businesses for sixteen years and still owns a RV Park. She is active in lobbying and advocating for small businesses with the Texas Legislature and is the chair person for Leadership Council for the National Federation of Independent Business/Texas. During her leisure time she enjoys traveling, running her kids all over town for sports, buying shoes, seeing Broadway shows and watching football.
