Mac Beth is an all-female play by Erica Schmidt that adapts Shakespeare's Macbeth for a contemporary setting. The play features seven teenage girls who meet in an abandoned lot to perform the play, using only Shakespeare's text as their guide. As they perform, the line between their game and reality blurs, exploring themes of power, ambition, and the ferocity of adolescence.

Congratulations to our LEHS Theatre students on a wonderful performance of “Mac Beth” (adapted by Erica Schmidt) at the District One Act Play competition last week at Northeast Texas Community College in Mt. Pleasant!
While they did not advance, we are incredibly proud of the dedication, growth, and hard work these students have shown all year long. From outstanding performances of “She Kills Monsters,” “Junie B. Jones Is Not a Crook,” and “Mac Beth,” our Leopards have represented LEHS with excellence on and off the stage.
We are also proud to celebrate our District One Act Play award recipients:
Excellence in Tech Award – Lights: Christopher Striplin
Honorable Mention All-Star Cast – Ensemble of Witches: Amaree Hodge, Katlynn Lucas, and Abigail Strange
All-Star Cast: Carson Huckobey as Mac Beth
A special thank you to our Seniors — Amaree Hodge, Carson Huckobey, Jacob Hargrave, Christopher Striplin, Jacob Kennedy, Emily Garrett, Zoe Evans, and Brooklyn Hines — for your leadership, commitment, and countless hours dedicated to LEHS Theatre. Your impact will be lasting, and your time and dedication do not go unnoticed.
We can’t wait to see what LEHS Theatre has in store for next year. Once a Leopard, always a Leopard!
