The Liberty-Eylau Choirs are extremely proud to announce that Omarijuan Hayden and William Day have earned a spot in the 2026 Texas All-State Choir. All students who competed today demonstrated outstanding musicianship, perseverance, discipline, and pure grit.

I hesitated even doing solo and ensemble this year since the choir has been so busy. I am so proud to say that 11 of our students received superior ratings on their solo today! Now to get ready for state. I am so proud of all of my kiddos for competing today! So proud of my two private voice students for receiving a superior rating as well. 

Shoutout to Our LEHS Choir!

We would like to give a huge shoutout to our incredible LEHS Choir and their director, Ms. Sherri Pickering! Tomorrow, they will be traveling to San Antonio to perform at TMEA, and we could not be more proud of their hard work and accomplishments.

Your dedication, talent, and commitment truly represent LEHS with excellence. We wish you the very best of luck — we know you will shine on that stage!

Board member, Timothy Brown, had the honor and privilege of representing the Liberty-Eylau Board of Trustees and Administration at the 2026 Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Conference on February 13th.

The TMEA Vocal Division invites only 14 choirs spanning middle school through the college/university level. This year, more than 130 ensembles from across the state submitted applications, and only seven high school programs were selected. Liberty-Eylau was especially distinguished as the only 3A high school chosen in the entire state.

In addition, one of our band students earned First Chair at the state level, recognizing him as one of the top student musicians in Texas within his classification. We also had two choir students selected to the All-State Choir.

These accomplishments reflect the exceptional talent, dedication, and hard work of our students, directors, and the continued support of our district and community. Congratulations to everyone involved on this outstanding achievement.
