STEAM - It's Elementary!

Missy Halcott and Kristin Swanson

Today's Meet

Session Description:

Every elementary classroom can include all five elements of STEAM! Inquiry isn't a weekly project, it's an everyday practice that engages students, encourages exploration, and instills curiosity. This session will equip teachers to think about each lesson with STEAM in mind, then plan, prepare, and practice using the resources they have, while discovering ways to get the ones they want.

Participants will explore inexpensive STEAM challenges that can easily be implemented in any elementary classroom. Participants should be prepared for hands-on participation during this session.

Session Outline:

A brief overview of STEAM will be provided, but the majority of this session will be spent on exploring methods for integrating STEAM into your existing content and classroom by implementing low to no budget solutions to allow your students to create, explore, and engineer in their elementary classrooms.
