Description: This session will be a general introduction to Garageband. Participants will learn how to create their own, royalty free pieces that can be used on the webpages and in multimedia projects. See how Garageband is sparking creativity, and changing the world of music!
Audience: Creative people, and those who love music!
Devices: Mac (w/Garageband), iPad, good set of classroom speakers (or headphones for personal use)
(Windows users will be able to do many of these activities with Acid, Fruity Loops, or Mixcraft Soundation
Outline of Presentation:
1) Program and interface layout
2) Finding and using loops
3) Making musical decisions
4) Recording with the QWERTY keyboard
5) Recording with an external (MIDI) keyboard
6) Recording using a microphone
7) Exporting to iTunes, then the world
8) Finding and using MIDI Files with GB
9) Garageband on iPad
10) Ways GB is being used in education - EXAMPLE 1 EXAMPLE 2
11) A look at Mixcraft for Windows
