Jamie Kasper
Jamie Kasper is currently the Fine Arts and Humanities Advisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Education. After graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education, she began her professional career as a music educator in Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland. Her career continued with teaching positions in Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia and Bermudian Springs School District in Pennsylvania. While teaching, Jamie was involved as a faculty member in the Pennsylvania Governor’s Institute for Arts Educators; she also led the statewide early childhood standards-writing team for the arts. Jamie moved to the Department of Education in October 2007. Her current projects include Arts Educator 2.0, a federally-funded grant project co-directed with Intermediate Unit 1, and the new Common Core arts standards.
