Challenge:


Empower learners to use their voice to make meaningful real world connections with their school, community, country, or world.


Aspirations:

  • Connect students with professionals and/or peers through Skype in the classroom.
  • What is something that you would like to learn more about?
  • Research, share with class / family / community / role model
  • Some examples to share / publish / reach out - Skype, iBooks, iMovie/trailer, wiki, Twitter,
  • Find something in their community that they could help with. Knit small blanket for animal shelter, make something for shut-ins/elderly (weaving, survival bracelets, movie, service projects...)
  • Create an organization that reaches out to the community - make, create, take/share
  • Focus the pictures in the iMovie on the 4 pillars
  • Present students an opportunity to improve something in their school or community (re-design library/classrooms/school, community garden, awareness of community recreation opportunities)
  • Students can use: 3D printers, Minecraft, paper/pencil, 3D models, Educreations, CAD programs, wikis, computer programs, SWAY,
