1. High-Level Thinking Processes
The High Level Thinking Processes online course explores the principles of Bloom’s Taxonomy and complex thinking
strategies in order to analyze and improve instructional practices in the classroom. The culminating activity for this
course has participants "makeover" a lesson plan that elicits students' use of higher order thinking skills at Bloom's higher
levels. Themes in this course include: Identifying Factual Data, Bloom's Taxonomy Review, and Thinking Skill Implementation
Strategies. This course requires a synchronous session on the first and last day of the course.
2. Engaging Students
The Engaging Students online course explores strategies for engaging students and promoting their active role in the
classroom learning experience. The culminating activity for this course has participants collaborate on creating a lesson
plan that uses active learning techniques. Themes in this course include: Engaging Questions, Teacher Strategies for
Student Engagement, and Increasing Student Engagement. This course requires a synchronous session on the first and last day of the course.
3. Authentic Connections
The Authentic Connections online course focuses on ways to infuse authentic, real-world situations into student learning experiences. The culminating activity for this course has participants collaborate on an authentic performance task addressing each participant's instructional content needs. Themes in this course include: Making Authentic Student
Connections, Employing 21st Century Themes, and Assessing Authentic Student Products. This course requires a synchronous session on the first and last day of the course.
4. Technology Tools
The Technology Tools online course explores a variety of FREE online tools and how they can be used effectively to
support and transform student learning experiences. The culminating activity for this course has participants present a
portfolio sample that analyzes the classroom implementation of a selected technology tool from the course. Themes in
this course include: Exploring Technology Tools, Sharing Technology Tools, and Implementing Technology Tools. This course requires participation in a synchronous session on the first and last day of the course.

LoTi Administrator Institute
The LoTi Administrator program focuses on improving student achievement using 21st Century Leadership and data-driven
decision-making. The Institute includes strategies for
(1) conducting classroom walkthroughs with H.E.A.T.;
(2) designing professional development opportunities that target greater rigor and relevance, LoTi, and
research best-practices;
(3) and creating a campus Next Steps Action Plan.
This course requires participation in two synchronous sessions.

Dr. Chris Moersch, founder of the internationally-recognized and research-based LoTi Framework and author of numerous publications including Beyond Hardware: Using Higher Order Thinking to Promote Effective Technology Use is available for district, regional, and national speaking engagements. Dr. Moersch’s public speaking at national and regional conferences including NECC, GaTEC, Classroom Connect, METC, TCEA, and California C.U.E. offer the audience an engaging and provocative insight into the world of instructional leadership, digital-age learning, and continuous improvement. He has served as a featured or keynote speaker at over 75 regional and national conferences.
Dr. Chris Moersch's Levels of Teaching Innovation (LoTi) program is an international research-based school improvement model designed to harness the power of existing state and district initiatives into one united effort designed to promote H.E.A.T. (i.e., Higher order thinking, Engaged learning, Authentic connections, Technology use) in student learning according to the National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS-S) and 21st Century Skills. The LoTi implementation model focuses on the delicate balance between instruction, assessment, and the effective use of the available digital resources to increase the amount of H.E.A.T. while simultaneously improving student academic progress.
For the past 15 years, Dr. Chris Moersch has been the principal investigator of the LoTi project and Executive Director of LoTi Connection, Inc. In that capacity, he has worked with thousands of educators nationwide promoting the tenets of digital-age literacy and professional development in an effort to transform low performing schools into high performing schools. He has over 20 years experience in the areas of curriculum development, program evaluation, and technology integration practices. His specialization includes promoting school improvement initiatives, creating 21st Century Learning environments using EBAM (Experiential-based Action Model), and facilitating administrator institutes.
