Worker of the Veterans Health Affairs (VHA), Dr. Serra Schrempp works every day to help retired veterans live out the rest of their lives in peace and safety. As the Patient Safety Manager, Schrempp directly monitors the health practices of the Blacks Hills Healthcare system.
Coming from a family of military service, Schrempp works with the Veterans at the VA to give back to the community that gave so much to keep others safe.
“The privilege to ensure safe medical care to the men and women,” Schrempp said, “who have provided me a blanket of security and protection of my constitutional rights is overwhelmingly rewarding.”
To ensure the protection of veterans, Schrempp reviews events that occur in the VA. She then reviews the process by which something happened and discovers the best ways to eliminate as much human error as possible in order to create a safer environment for military personnel.
“Implementing process improvements to ensure the safety of our veterans takes a team,” Schrempp said, ”and everyone at the VA has the same goal.”
Schrempp believes that the men and women who have worked to keep Americans’ safety and individual rights safe should be provided with respect for what they’ve done for their country. She believes veterans deserve the time and effort given by the workers of the VA and other Americans.
