Five musicians capture hearts of thousands of fans

Editorial by Baylee Vollmer Of Mice & Men, a group of five musically talented guys that started out as a small underground group in 2009, is now a full-size band in the year 2014. The band has released a total of three albums with one re-release. The albums show how Of Mice & Men has grown and how their style has changed.

The lead singer, Austin Carlile, is known as a soft-hearted gentleman who possesses the voice of a baby lion. Austin has a big impact on teens and music industries everywhere. He is known for his strong quotes and impactful lyrics. Carlile’s goal is to help teens get through the day, loving all of his fans and what he does.

Alan Ashby is the guitarist, “ginger princess” and “baby brother” of the group. Ashby enjoys being with his group of friends and having a good time. On stage doing what he loves to do, Ashby is amazing to see because no one believed in him. He had support from his family, but no one else wanted to see the day he would be on stage doing what his dream was to do playing in a band.

Valentino “Tino” Arteaga, a fun-loving drummer who will do almost anything to have fun, was also one no one wanted to be seen on stage. Now, he tours with a band who appreciates what he does. He continued to push through all the negative comments ever said about him to become what he always strived to become.

A bassist who took everything seriously, Aaron Pauley suddenly learned how to have fun when he joined Of Mice & Men. Pauley is the newest member of the band but was the fastest to learn his place and fit in. Pauley has been playing since 2009 when the first Of Mice & Men album came out.

Philip Manasala is the co-guitarist who fits together with Alan like peanut butter to jelly on stage. Watching the two play together on stage is like watching Leonardo Da Vinci paint a new painting. They work well on stage, pulling the Of Mice & Men together.

The the group has been playing for an amazing four years. Of Mice & Men has no intention of quitting anytime soon and only plan to get better in playing together as friends.
