Josh Exner, a full-time Army National Guard employee and soldier, decided to join to do something no one in his family has done, join the Army National Guard.
Exner also joined to help pay for college for his son, so that he doesn’t have to worry about debt or getting a good paying job.
He said he decided to go full-time with his job because of the type of work he does and the extra benefits he gets for his dedication.
Exner plans on staying in the Army National Guard for 20-plus years to get the full benefits of joining the military.
Encouraging anybody thinking about joining, Exner said they should pick jobs that they love doing and do research on the job or on similar jobs to keep from getting stuck doing jobs that may not appeal in the long-run.
