Student Council Members talk to eighth graders

By Baylee Vollmer and Callie Green

Recently, high school students went to talk with the eighth grade students about joining Student Council. Student council members talked about their positions and experiences of being a part of Student Council.

There is an urgency to finding individuals willing to work for their classmates and school leadership, so these students are hoping to get more eighth graders to join for next year.

The students who talked with the eighth graders included John Gasper (11), Samantha Nash (11), Kristin Anderson (10), Claire Scarborough (9), and Austin Biers (9).

“Being a freshman in Student Council means you get to vote on topics, such as homecoming themes, and other things happening around school,” Austin Biers (9) said.

“Student Council runs anything from Prom, Snoball, and to Valentine’s Day activities,” said Kristen Anderson Sophomore class president said.

Student Council not only provides individuals the opportunity to voice opinions, it also gives members the opportunity to have fun, be active in the school and make friends while doing so.

The deadline date for Student Council sign-up sheets to be submitted was April 29.
