See You at the Pole is a national Christian gathering held around the United States to celebrate National Prayer Day. The objective is to exercise the freedom of speech and religion.
This year, and the past five years, Regie Lewis and Tammy Iverson have been the leading inspirers for the event. At many schools throughout the United States, there are organizations hosting an event similar to this one at their local schools.
How individuals share their inner prayers aloud at the pole varies. “It all comes from what you spend your time thinking about,” Iverson said.
Approximately 30 students, community members and a few staff members gathered around the flagpole, joined hands and prayed for close to 15 minutes about anything from their school to their family and sang a hymn or two as they celebrated their freedoms.
