Ask for the Box Number. This is the number that I write on the box when I open the units in the office. It correlates to the id in the list that is attached below. Once you open the document it will be on the far left. This allows me to easily identify the ESN and verify with the mechanic that I have the correct unit with the correct IP.
Get the Asset Number and Lease Name from the mechanic. Record these in the list, and then record the current days date.
Put the asset information you obtained in the database. The unit should already be in the database with the ESN for the Lease Name and the text TBD for the Asset Number. You can verify the IP from the list with the box number and the ESN.
Verify what TYPE the unit is, GED or VFD. The unit type should reflect this information in the database so the correct values can be assigned to the unit.
The next time dispatch.py kicks off the script for that units you should see the unit update.
If the unit does not update, you can log in to the unit itself through the ACE Manager to check the status of the unit.
