This Policy is under development.
The purpose of this Policy is to establish the minimum requirements for the Make Ready on Release of a compressor unit that had just been released from a customers location. This policy is to insure that recently released compressor units are put back to a "Ready to Deploy" state immediately following release by the area in which it was released. This policy is effective for all Flogistix compressor packages that were currently on rent and had been set on a customers location. This policy will be performed by Flogistix personnel in the Field or at shop locations.
This procedure applies to all Flogistix packages that were currently on rent and had been set on a customers location.
Before any work is performed a JSA needs to be done according to Flogistix procedure along with any Customer requirements before any work is started.
Flogistix Service Technicians will perform the task of making a unit ready to deploy which will include the following:
Make sure unit is clean, unit should be washed including all drip rails cleaned of any oily debris or soil
Performing a PM on the unit, so when the unit is set on the next location it will be ready to run without having to be shut down days after start up for a PM.
Repairing or replacing any loose or damaged wiring or tubing.
Replacing any major components that are "Worn out" (i.e. engines with low compression, knocking, or internal noise. Screws making abnormal rotor noise, etc.)
Repair any major fluid or oil leaks (including the replacement of any leaking mechanical seals)
Make sure LOGIX PLC software is upgraded to the latest version.
If major repairs or rebuild is required, you will need to notify Fleet Manager (Cindy Stuck) so that repair plans can be made and the unit is not considered for immediate redeployment on an upcoming set.
If an area fails to do a "Make Ready on Release" and the unit is shipped to another area, and the unit is found to require significant repairs when it arrives, the original shipping area will be charged double the cost of repairs (including parts cost and labor) against the shipping areas margins for that month.
The receiving area will receive the full credit for their trouble in repairing the equipment.
It is important to remember that if the area that enjoyed the revenue from the unit during the time it was deployed, that area should also be responsible for repairing any issues on that unit once it is released.
Units should be being maintained in the field and not require major repairs or cost when being released. The Monthly Field Service Bonus plan is in place to insure Flogistix rental units are being maintained properly.
It will be the responsibility of the receiving area to notify the Director of Field Service and/or the Vice President of Field Service if and when a unit arrives in the receiving area in a state of disrepair that will require significant cost to repair or to make ready. Each instance will be looked into individually, and may result in further disciplinary action if a unit is deemed to be in an extreme state of neglect or disrepair. Disciplinary actions may include loss of the Monthly Bonus for a period of time, Write-ups, and in extreme cases termination of employment.
The expectation on turn around time frame for these "Make Ready to Deploy" repairs are to be made within two (2) weeks following the date the unit arrives back in the areas yard that had the unit on rent. This is an expected time for this policy to be carried out. In some cases the repairs may take longer due to repair parts not being in stock and waiting on delivery. In this case the Director of Field Service or Vice President of Field Service needs to be notified of any delays of the "Make Ready to Deploy" on a particular unit.
If this unit was recently released, any needed repairs either minor or major should have been known. The parts to make the repairs should have been ordered if it was not a normally stocked parts item.
Utilization rates on some units is extremely high and the need to get these units redeployed needs to be as soon as possible. If the company is experiencing a high number of releases resulting in lower than normal utilization on a particular type of unit, it may be necessary to preserve ("pickle") the unit in order to prepare it for long term storage. Please see procedures on preserving a unit for more information. Once you preserve (or "pickle") a unit, you will need to notify the Fleet Manager (Cindy) so that the status of the unit can be updated.
This policy is intended to improve and maintain the quality of our rental fleet, reduce or lead times for addressing customer needs and to hold ourselves to higher standards.
