The purpose of this job description is to establish the minimum requirements for Lead Service Technician.
Lead Service Technician Position
The position of Lead Service Technician will consist of the following duties based on the structure of Flogistix at the time. This position is being described as of January 2017.
This position is intended for an individual who has shown leadership abilities and is willing to help the Area Service Manager oversee the Service Technicians and rental equipment. This individual has demonstrated the mechanical ability to correctly repair and operate equipment with little or no supervision. This individual has also proven themselves in their ability to communicate and work with others including customers as well as taken on the responsibility of mentoring other Service Technicians. This position will answer directly to the Area Service Manager.
Duties to Include:
Abide by and help Service Manager to enforce all Flogistix Policies and help see that all employees represent Flogistix to our Customers and fellow Employees in a Professional and Courteous Manner.
Abide by and help Area Service Manager enforce all Flogistix Safety Policies and report incidents/accidents to Area Service Manager that can then be reported to Safety Dept. Stop any known unsafe acts being committed by anyone working in, on or around any Flogistix facility, vehicle, or compressor package. Do not allow any person to perform any task that you or they feel is out of their ability to perform whether physically or mentally that may cause harm to them selves or the equipment they are working on. Any employee of Flogistix has the right to refuse or stop work ("Stop Work Authority") or actions for an unsafe act being committed.
Be involved in helping oversee and to guide all Service Technicians, P.M. Service Technicians or any other service personnel that are in the designated Area Service Managers coverage area. This would include offering any advice for any service or repair work that is done in the field or shop to any Flogistix rental compressor. This also includes all third party work being performed in their designated area. To also help either verbally or hands on when they need help performing their job and to make sure they do it in a safe and professional manner.
Notify the Area Service Manager of any policy violations that may require disciplinary action of the service group in said area. Notify and or give recommendations to Area Service Manager of any employee that is not performing up to their or the companies expectations.
Help the Area Service Manager plan or recommend the type of maintenance tasks/repairs to be performed with schedules for routine repairs and routine maintenance on Flogistix rental compression and third party work if any.
Help in the planning of the Flogistix Rental Compression Maintenance Program. Help Area Service Manager enforcement as they need of the planned Flogistix Rental Compression Maintenance Program and to see that all scheduled routine repairs and routine maintenance on Flogistix rental compression and third party work if any has been completed properly.
If asked by the Area Service Manager to view Field Service Reports that have been turned in by Service Technicians to see if any changes need to be made to service procedures or if changes need to be made to scheduled maintenance tasks in the Flogistix Rental Compression Maintenance Program. Also if asked to review any parts that are being charged or used for repairs to rental compressors, either for scheduled maintenance items, scheduled minor & major repairs, or for emergency repairs to compressor units.
See that all company issued equipment, that includes all tools either shop or field, hand or power tools is being maintained and kept up to standards. This is including company vehicles that are assigned to any of the Field Service Group in their area. Any violations noticed should be reported to the Area Service Manager.
Help coordinate or recommend to the Area Service Manager the Service Technicians compressor runs with proper Service Technician to compressor ratio for the type run according to geographic area, size of compressor, & mechanical ability of the Service Technician.
Help if needed in the communication with customers about callouts, mechanical issues, communication between Service Technician and Customer.
Weekend work may be required, and also to be available after hours by cell phone in case of emergencies, dispatch of customer call outs, or consultation of service repairs major or minor from the service group
Some overnight travel out of said service area may be required at times.
Physical Requirements:
To be physically able to operate a Company owned service vehicle. This vehicle could either be an automatic transmission or standard shift transmission. This vehicle may possibly be either a DOT or Non - DOT regulated vehicle.1.
Be able to lift and or carry at least up to but not limited to 75 pounds weight for a short distance.
To be physically able to stand, pull or push on large wrenches.
To be physically able to do some squatting, kneeling, stretching, and climbing, stepping over small piping no more than 24” in height, to step on and off compressor skids no more than 18” in height.
Physically able to climb a ladder up to but not limited to 20’ in height
