This process is not difficult, and needs to be documented with screenshots so that the user can easily identify the process. Once someone is ready to do this, it is simply a process of looking at a current template, marking all of the changes that need to be made so that the unit with the new firmware has all of the values of the unit with the old firmware. This can be done by logging into a unit with old firmware in one tab, and logging into a unit that has new firmware in another. Once you can get values from running master.py on the unit, download that template xml from the unit with the new firmware and store it(you can add it to the wiki that shows you how to set up a new unit). You can verify its working by uploading the new xml to a unit that has the new firmware and testing it.
