This Policy is under construction and not complete.
The purpose of this document is to establish the minimum requirements for the proper securement procedure to properly secure Compressor skids for transportation. This policy is effective for all Flogistix compressor packages being transported by Flogistix personnel or being contracted to transport by Flogistix.
This procedure applies to all Flogistix packages that are being transported no matter the distance that the unit is being transported.
Before any work is performed a JSA needs to be done according to Flogistix procedure along with any Customer requirements before any work is started.
All Methods require the Skid Unit to be loaded in the center width of trailer.
Steps: Chain Over Procedure
Lay chain (1) across the front of skid on the outside of the drip rail.
Lay chain (2) across the back of skid on the outside of the drip rail.
Depending on whether trailer is equipped with spool or stake pocket on the inside of the trailer rail.
Either Feed the end of the chain through the inside of rub rails on trailer, around the spool, then hook back onto the chain.
Or Feed the end of chain through the inside of rub rails on trailer, through the stake pocket, then hook back onto the chain.
The chain should be angled towards the middle of the skid, not away from the skid. (see attached picture "A")
Walk to the other side of the trailer and wrap chain on the outside of the skids I-beam, then under and around the ear of the skid Attach (1) chain binder to the chain at the middle of the skid, to apply pressure evenly to both sides of the skid.
Attach both chain binders to the chains at the middle of the skid, to apply pressure evenly to both sides of the skid.
Endure appropriate angles for chains in order to maintain proper positioning and avoid chain slipping over drip rail of skid.

Steps: Chain Wrap Procedure
Lay chain (1) across the front of skid on the outside of the drip rail.
Lay chain (2) across the back of skid on the outside of the drip rail.
Wrap chain on the outside of the skid's I-beam, then under and around each ear of the skid ,making sure the chain does not cross. (see attached picture B)

Employees maybe required to be at elevated heights by having to be on the trailer deck of trailer transporting skid to properly place chains on compressor skid being secured.
Hazard of slips, trips, falls, and pinch points while securing load and placing tie down chains in place on trailer.
Employees should be aware that units could contain flammable and toxic gasses.
Potential for the possible hazards of gas ignition or fire, hot surfaces & fluids, rotating equipment.
Risk of possible concentration of H2S. Hazardous gases could be in the units pressure vessels, cooler, or associated piping and risk of inhalation of hazardous gas fumes.
All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for normal Field Mechanical duties apply for this procedure.
Four Gas Monitor, which is outlined in the Flogistix EHSS Manual, PPE Section 8, Procedure 8.3
This procedure applies to all units in service in the field, at a service shop, or in any storage yard.
Insure Flogistix personnel have proper safety certification or site orientation if required by the Flogistix Customer.
