This Policy is completed and is waiting Field Service, Engineering, & Safety approval.
The purpose of this procedure is to establish the minimum requirements for setting up the Compressor Oil Filter Differential Pressure in the LOGIX control panel. The procedure applies to all LOGIX panels equipped with the Compressor Oil Pressure Differential option. This procedure is to ensure the proper set up to ensure Compressor Oil Filter Differential Pressure Alarms and Fault settings in the LOGIX panel as laid out in this procedure.
This procedure applies to all units that are equipped with the LOGIX panel that has the Compressor Oil Filter Differential Pressure Alarm and Fault option.currently in service in the Field, Test Loop, at a Repair Shop, or in Storage Yards. Flogistix Service Technicians will perform the set up of the Compressor Oil Filter Differential Pressure in the LOGIX panel as laid out in this procedure according to this procedure.
Before any work is performed a JSA needs to be done according to Flogistix procedure along with any Customer requirements before any work is started.
To set up the Compressor Oil Filter Differential Pressure settings in the LOGIX panel you must first be logged into the LOGIX panel under an Advanced Technician Level or higher
To properly set up the panel to correctly shut the unit down on Compressor Oil Filter Differential pressure start at the Home screen and touching the yellow box under C. Oil Filter Diff. Pressure and temporarily turn the shutdown Off.
Make sure the compressor unit has:
New compressor oil filters
New compressor oil
Start up the unit and warm up the compressor oil to normal operating temperature.
Once operating temperature of the compressor oil has been determined to be running at operating conditions then from the Home page go to the Settings page and then the Machine Specific Page. At the Machine Specific page select Next page at the bottom of the page.
From the Next Page screen temporarily change the Compressor Oil Filter offset to zero “0” ass seen in the example below.
From the Machine Specific pages go back to the Home screen
At the Home page the C. Oil Filter Diff Pressure will now show what the true resistance of the oil piping system is while the unit is running
As in this example the true differential is showing 11.5 PSIG differential
Once the true differential pressure has been determined, that amount of offset pressure will then need to be adjusted on the Machine Spec page.
From the Home page go to the Settings page and then the Machine Specific Page. At the Machine Specific page select Next page at the bottom of the page. E
As in the example the true differential was 11.5 PSIG differential.
At the Machine Specific page and then the Next Page the Compressor Oil Filter Differential pressure Offset pressure will need to adjusted.
To get a "Zero" differential pressure on the Home screen a negative Offset will need to be added in the Offset box of the Min/Max Compressor Oil Differential Pressure
As seen in the example below a -11.5 was entered into the Offset.
Once the Offset has been entered then go to the Home page and the C. Oil Filter Diff. Pressure should read zero “0” as in the below example.
At this time the Compressor Oil Filter Differential Pressure shutdown differential should be set correctly.
At the Home screen touch the yellow box under C. Oil Filter Diff Pressure and turn the shutdown back On.
Management - Management is responsible for implementing, supporting, and enforcing the requirements of this procedure to their respective locations/area.
EHSS - Responsible to assist in the implementation of this procedure and to review for effectiveness.
Employees, Contractors, Vendors, ETC. - Are responsible to follow the requirements outlined in this procedure and ask for assistance
This procedure applies to all Flogistix compressor units equipped with a LOGIX control panel with Compressor Oil Filter Differential Alarm/Shutdown option and are applicable to all Flogistix employees, contractors, and temporary employees.
Employees should be aware that units could contain flammable and toxic gasses. Potential for the possible hazards of gas ignition or fire, hot surfaces & fluids, rotating equipment. Risk of possible concentration of H2S. Hazardous gases could be in the units pressure vessels, cooler, or associated piping and risk of inhalation of hazardous gas fumes. Environmental spill of engine waste oil and production fluids
All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for normal Field Mechanical duties apply for this procedure.
Four Gas Monitor, which is outlined in the Flogistix EHSS Manual, PPE Section 8, Procedure 8.3
This procedure applies to all units in service in the field, at a service shop, or in any storage yard.
Insure Flogistix personnel have proper safety certification or site orientation if required by the Flogistix Customer.
Insure Flogistix personnel adhere to all Customers safety practices.
All employees shall be initially trained on the following topics:
Employee Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedure according to Flogistix policy
Emergency and First Aid procedures
Methods and Observations that may be used to detect the presence or release of a hazardous chemicals or gas in the work place
