The accounting system will report financial information on a basis consistent with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.
The district will prepare monthly and annual reports comparing actual revenues and expenditures to budgeted amounts. Periodic reports will be provided to program directors for review.
An independent certified public accounting firm will be selected by the Board of Education and will perform an annual audit, and will publicly issue their opinion on the district’s financial statements.
The district will seek to obtain and maintain a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International and the Government Finance Officers Association. The district will also seek to obtain and maintain the Meritorious Budget Award from the Association of School Business Officials International and the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association.
