Free Adult Meals

School Lunch Duty: Each school is allotted 1 free meal per day

for each 200 students (generally student enrollment). Generally, this

is a teacher who is opted to do the additional duty in the lunch room

during their lunch time to help supervise students. Custodians and

secretaries who are working in lunch rooms should not be given a free

meal since they are already clocked in and being compensated for their

assignments. If they are working in the lunch room, and are clocked

in performing their regularly assigned duties, secretaries and

custodians should not be compensated with a free meal.

  • Milford HS: 1 free meals for teachers assigned to lunch duty

Special Ed Aides: If a special ed. aide is assigned to a severe

student whose IEP specifically indicates their supervising aide is

required to participate in the lunch process with the student, this

aide may receive a free lunch at the cost to Special Ed. However, the

Special Ed. director must approve this, and the student's IEP must

indicate this as well.
