Talk Like a Pirate Day
Yes! This is a real thing! Read about it on the International Talk Like A Pirate Day Blog. Did you know that if your library subscribes to MANGO Languages, they have a module for speaking "pirate?" I like to show it to students so they can see how MANGO works in a language that is funny and they can all understand.
My 2nd site had a class set of Treasure Island that was no longer part of the core reading list, so I gave them away for Talk Like a Pirate Day,
You can also read Treasure Island for Free online because it is in the Public Domain.
