Instructions:
Make one sheet of "Caught Reading" tickets for each teacher. Cut tickets and place in an envelope with the explanation letter.
Decide how often you will draw winning tickets
Call students in during Homeroom (ours is called Advisory) to pick out a free book from the reward cart.
Make sure to make extra tickets for teachers who request more.

You can start small by doing this campaign during your book fair! Book prizes are purchased with Scholastic Dollars
Use the Caught Reading Ticket from Scholastic Book Fairs Toolkit and let your winners choose a book directly from the book fair - be sure to place a $ amount limit. I usually say $15 or less.
That way you can budget how much you can afford to give away.

This week is Read Across America Week. To celebrate the value of reading, Teachers can pass out "Caught Reading" tickets. Turn these tickets in to the Main Office or to the Library. Each Day tickets will be drawn for a free book.
