Directions: Use this format for your research essay. Remember to use 12 point Times New Roman font and double space your paper.

I. First Paragraph: Opening

a. Tell what your topic is.

b. Tell why you chose it.

c. Tell how and where you did your research.

d. Tell what resources you found.

II. Second Paragraph: Sources Used

a. Tell where you found your sources.

b. List the sources where you found information about your topic.

i. Encyclopedia

ii. Book

iii. Periodical

iv. Website

c. Were they easy to find?

III. Third Paragraph: Facts about your topic

a. Write the facts you found out about your topic from each source (minimum 3: print (book or encyclopedia), periodical, Internet)

IV. Fourth Paragraph: Project Information

a. Tell me what the project was supposed to teach you how to do.

b. Tell me what it means “to do research.”

c. Tell me why it matters to understand the importance of doing research (Getting the grade would not be a good thing to write here!).

V. Fifth Paragraph: Conclusion

a. Tell what sources were most useful

b. Tell how you feel about your finished produce

c. Tell what you would do differently next time.
