Objective: Students will learn to create an annotated list of their reading by using GoodReads


Open your internet browser

Type in the address bar: www.goodreads.com

Under the heading: New Here? Create a Free Account! click the yellow "Sign Up" box

type the requested information:


Name

e-mail address (this will be your sign in name)

Password (use the same as your e-mail password)

check the box to send book reviews from your friends to your e-mail

Find friends:

you can sign in to facebook, twitter, yahoo mail, or hotmail, to import your address book and find friends, or you can "skip this step" to choose your friends individually

Select your favorite genres from the list (clicking on Young Adult is recommended)

Save

Rate 20 books to receive personalized recommendations, or choose I'm finished rating to skip this step


Search for the book you last read, rate it and write a review


Search for the book you are currently reading and add it to your "to read" shelf


Click on find friends and search for friends to add by their e-mail addresses. Choose one friend and make a comment on one of their book ratings.


Send a friend a message about a book you think they will like


Post a book review on the last book you read.
