The following question types are part of the Research and Inquiry Strand in English Language Arts for Grades 6-8.
Types of Questions:
- Performance Task
- Matching: Read 3 sources and identify which claims are supported by each source
- Short Answer: Find textual evidence to support a claim
- Short Answer: How the textual evidence supports a claim
- identify the source by title or number.
- Essay: Write an essay on a related topic using text evidence
- Multi Select: From a list of search results with one line descriptions, identify which is the best source for a given task.
- Hot Text: Given a paragraph, identify a claim that is or is not supported by a credible source.
- Matching: Read information from 2 sources and match claims to each source
- Short Answer: Which source best provides information for the claim?
- Hot Text: Find evidence in a second source that supports claims made in a first source
