Group work (10 minutes)
Give students a circle map to complete as a group listing all the words and images associated with the Red Bandanna in the video. Can also use a red piece of copy or construction paper.
Share Out (5 minutes)
Each Group Shares out one word and why they chose it. Copy on to a master list for the class (whiteboard or chart paper). Talk about how the same symbol can have different meanings to different people and under different circumstances. For example, bandannas of any color are forbidden to be displayed or worn in Southern California schools, as they may represent a gang affiliation.
