Journals:

1. Fairy tales could not exist without the fight against evil. Make a list of all the forces of evil that you can think of. (witch, step-mothers, etc.)

2. In fairytales, the forces of good usually triumph. List all of the forces of good that you encounter in fairy tales or children’s stories/

3. Fairy Tales usually include some form of magic or the supernatural. List all of the types of magic or magical things you can think of in fairytales or stories.

4. Every fairytale has a hero, describe your favorite fairytale hero.

5. Every fairytale has a villain, describe your favorite villain.

We have read some examples of Changed Children's Stories including The Frog Prince Continued, The True Story of The Three Little Pigs, Lon Po Po, and Politically Correct Fairy Tales.

Directions for Writing:

Write your own Changed Children's Story. Your choices are:

• Change Time and Place

• Change Point of View

• Continue the Story

• Change the ending

• Write an Original Fairy Tale

Your story must be six pages long (not including a title page and "The End" page. You may use a mixture of writing and illustrations to fill up the space. Your final copy may be typed, but does not have to be. It must be in final draft form, with colored illustrations.
