Faculty Bulletin Teacher Preview
The library is hosting our Scholastic Book Fair next week. Monday we will be setting up, and we would like to invite teachers to come in and preview the fair. Scholastic offers young adult books at great prices intended for the school market. You may want to purchase books to give as gifts, or make selections to recommend for parents to buy for your classroom library or students during open house. Hope to see you in the library!
Faculty Bulletin the week before
From March 14-18, please limit students sent to the library to essential textbook check-out only. We will not be able to accommodate groups of students for library use, as the upper level is reserved for the Scholastic Book Fair.

The book fair is coming next week! Come by before school, at lunch, or after school to check out the great selection of books and fun school supplies. Reading and English teachers have also been invited to bring their classes in to view the books. We will also have the book fair open from 6:30 to 8:30 during Open House.
Reader Awards After Book Fair
Promote Read Across America Week (February 28-March 4) by giving out a Pioneer Reader Award (nomination form attached). Any reading related activity can be recognized, for example a student who has scored well on a chapter test or quiz has done a great job of reading their textbook! If you don’t have time to fill out the form, simply send an e-mail stating the student's name, grade and the reason for nomination to Mrs. GRU. Students love to receive the recognition. All students who are nominated receive a certificate and a free book. We will be calling in students for awards after our book fair (March 14-18), which will supply us with many new books to give away.
Opening Day
The book fair is open in the library all this week! Come by before school, at lunch, or after school to check out the great selection of books and fun school supplies. We will also have the book fair open from 6:30 to 8:30 during Open House.

Come to the Library tonight during Open House for a family event! The book fair will be open from 6:30 to 8:30. We will also have crafts and reading for young children sponsored by AVID.
Newsletter Description
Each year the library holds a book fair during the week of Back to School Night and The week of Open House. The book fair has lots of great books for teens as well as some fun school supplies. We use the profits to purchase books for our school library, teacher's classroom libraries and for student reader awards. It's great seeing so many students excited about books and starting their own home library collections. Research studies have proven that students with greater access to books, including book ownership, do better academically. Keep Reading Panthers!
