Sometimes it helps to begin elementary sessions with a song that sets the stage for listening. There are several out there. Here's the one I use:

The Listening Song

(Tune: Frere Jacques/Are You Sleeping?)

"Eyes are watching,

Ears are listening,

Lips are closed,

Hands are still,

Feet are very quiet

You should really try it,

Listening well, listening well."
