Also called Blackout poetry. You can take any piece of text. This is a piece of text from the Diary of Anne Frank, often banned for it's sexuality.

The idea comes from ALA's Banned Books Week Campaign in 2013 where text is blacked out to leave a message with the remaining words.

It is kind of like an anti-censorship statement. Take an activity used to censor, and transform it into something meaningful and beautiful.

In the case above, I used a highlighter so that the original text is still visible. But it can be as simple as blacking out the words you don't want.
