In this short cue, Hermione’s theme gets a warm statement as she tells off Ron for having the “emotional range of a teaspoon.” This prompts the three of them to start laughing at the entire situation. During this, one of the few happy moments they have before the end of the movie, a new theme is introduced. The Trio theme gets its first moment, reflecting nostalgically on the 5-year friendship Harry, Ron, and Hermione have, and all they’ve been through.

Continuing without pause from the end of Cue No. 22, another world of eerie sound builds up underneath Harry’s newest and most potent vision. Chromatic celesta and piano outline the shivering strings. A low tamtam emphasizes the reflection of Nagini in the walls of the Department of Mysteries. Choir enters, and various uneasy sounds enter and exit the texture.

Just after a muted horn statement of Voldemort 1, the snake strikes Mr. Weasley, who is currently guarding something in that room. Loud strikes sound in the orchestra at each blow to Mr. Weasley’s face, revealing more and more blood. The woodwinds begin fluttering around frantically as the attack unfolds. The horns begin to scream in desperation, and as it all comes to an end, Harry wakes up accompanied by choir, holding until the next move.

A reprise of the music that played underneath Harry running to find Ron after discovering the Mirror of Erised plays while a much more sinister run through the castle takes place. In Dumbledore’s office, ominous music plays as he speaks. Strings hold as the woodwinds play the Order theme, much more stressed than usual. Horns respond with an ominous Order theme, and it then transforms into the Ministry theme. A crescendo violently ends the cue as Harry becomes possessed and screams “Look at me!” at Dumbledore.
