"Quidditch Year Six"

Cue No. 21 - Quidditch, Year Six.mp4

An orchestral sparkle shows the viewer’s ears what the eyes can see as Harry sneaks something into his pocket. Flute and horn triads playfully descend over the realization that Harry may have spiked Ron’s drink with the luck potion Felix Felicis. Celesta and gentle strings play Ron’s theme in an inevitable-feeling kind of way. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are old friends at this point, so the boys know exactly what she'll say; Hermione barely has time to express her judgement while they enthusiastically leave for the game.

After a happy string cadence, a suspended cymbal crescendos over a white snowy screen before dropping us right in the middle of the Quidditch match. This is much like the opening of "Quidditch Year II" from Chamber of Secrets (2002). Reprisals of old Quidditch material are used, having not been heard since the second film, and new variations on the motoric material are introduced immediately after.

In a very Williams-esque way, xylophone and flute accent the action as Ron repeatedly blocks the Quaffle from the goals. More reprisal of old material fits itself to the action, this time the secondary material in 9/8 time. Crowds cheer to a more mature Hogwarts Forever before the conclusion of the match approaches.

Ron blocks another Quaffle in slow motion, and a big brassy statement of his theme plays over a VI chord, giving it a heroic quality. This theme turns into a variation on the Quidditch fanfare before developing into a fully fledged statement. The scene, and the cue, abruptly cut to the common room where the Gryffindors are all celebrating their win.
