"Christmas at The Burrow"

Cue No. 26 - Christmas at the Burrow.mp4

Strings enter quietly at both ends of the orchestra, and the middle sections accompanied by celesta move around while slowing down the rhythm. On the scene change, it is Christmas Day at the Burrow, and many old friends have gathered for as much holiday cheer as they can muster in these times. The Order of the Phoenix theme is heard for the first and only time in this score, bringing with it a sense of familial comfort and warmth.

Lupin, Arthur, and Tonks are discussing with Harry his suspicions of Malfoy. The 3-note motif sneaks around under the dialogue, reminding the audience of what the four characters are truly thinking about. Choir enters, singing the two-chord motif commonly associated with the history of Tom Riddle. Low strings come in, and the final 3-note in the horn does not finish, as the conversation has now ended.

Ginny sits down next to Harry, and a solo harp begins playing single notes delicately. Arthur takes his cue and leaves them to talk alone. Cellos begin singing a quiet theme accompanied only by violins; before it can get anywhere, much like their conversation, Ron shows up and places himself right between them on the couch. The flute plays his theme, though it is more of a subtle interruption, followed by pizzicato cellos and basses. The horn returns to see out the cue, and low strings fade out as someone is watching the Burrow from outside.
