Cue No. 7 - The Triwizard Tournament and Entrance of the Schools.mp4

A very short glimpse at what will become the Triwizard Tournament theme plays before Dumbledore launches into a speech to the students regarding their visitors. Hogwarts Forever plays in its entirety here as the speech continues. Dumbledore then introduces the first of the two visiting schools this year, Beauxbatons.

As the Beauxbatons students enter, a very Lydian and French-sounding theme plays over them. Some Mickey-Mousing takes place, specifically when the magical butterflies show up out of nowhere. This moment required some cheesy writing, and gives an emphasis to how mysterious and intriguing these new students are to the Hogwarts population.

Some low bass lines smoothly transition to the second visiting school, Durmstrang. The music for this school’s theme is much more percussive and rhythmically driven, to suggest the aggressiveness displayed in their entrance. Very little melodic material exists after the first initial sea-chanty-like theme given to them. The pace quickens as they start running, and Krum’s motif accents his entrance into the Great Hall. The Durmstrang students get their own Mickey-Mousing moment as the fire-dragon is released and nearly hits the camera.

Outside the castle, someone is arriving late to the feast. The Plotting motif plays over this and the cue ends on this slightly ominous note with our new characters.
