"Detention with Dolores"

Cue No. 14 - Detention with Dolores.mp4

The beginning of Umbridge’s theme, the “Umbridge Turn” sounds in the harp, and then the string section takes off randomly as Harry enters the painful experience of Detention with Dolores. Muted horns accent the stinging pain Harry feels on his hand. High violins add to the tension. The music builds, builds, and finally releases when the words now carved on his hand appear in full.

Low chords brood, the winds wind down, and Umbridge comes over to Harry. Solo horn moves to a new chord with the bass clarinet outlining the Ministry theme. Trombone chords maneuver their way to the end of the cue. Harry has a new enemy - one who is closer and a more immediate threat than Lord Voldemort.
