51 - King's Cross.mov

Dumbledore is revealed to the viewer aurally through an a cappella choir version of Fawkes the Phoenix. It holds at the top of the phrase, then the harp and celesta support the quiet and other-worldly mood. The choir continues on its own for quite some time, staying behind the dialogue, and supporting the heaven-like brightness of the scene. An occasional entrance of soft cellos or upper strings enter and leave, not drawing too much attention to themselves. Then a large, peaceful chord expands across the string section, accompanying the wide shot of what looks like King’s Cross station.

Choir continues, moving around between dissonance, consonance, and suspensions. An inquisitive Deathly Hallows theme plays in the celesta when Harry mentions the Elder Wand, and how Voldemort still has it in his possession. The 3-Note Motif briefly weaves in and out of the texture via solo flute with a descending motion in the choir, referencing how Nagini is still alive, Voldemort’s last Horcrux.

More soft strings continue the cue until a C major chord resolves the choir clusters. The trend of dissonance and consonance within the choir and strings leads to the very end of the cue, where Dumbledore gives his famous advice, to which the orchestra responds with one of the more mysterious quotes of Hedwig’s Theme as a callback to Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets. Dumbledore leaves Harry alone to return to the world and fight Voldemort one last time.
