"Harry and Ginny"

Cue No. 34 - Harry and Ginny.mp4

Cellos play a few notes decorated by harp to frame the opening of this cue. The harp then takes over, beginning to slowly outline chords. A melody unfolds on top of the texture in unison celesta, piano, and vibraphone. The theme is reminiscent of other moments where Williams' music has primarily sustained the chemistry between two characters slowly falling in love. Though it does not have direct connection to the material used already for Harry and Ginny, the mood and texture relates to their other moments and pulls us emotionally through this more isolated scene between the two.

The music continues over the shot of the Vanishing Cabinet, lacking emphasis since Harry is unaware of its significance. A bird flies out, gently accompanied by a harp glissando, and the music holds for a moment. Flute takes over to states the melody a second time before passing it to the oboe. High strings come in to eventually introduce Harry and Ginny's material from earlier in the film, then lower strings descend into warm chord changes as Ginny leans in. The orchestra tags a small ending moment on Harry looking at the empty room, then fades out as he meets up with Ron.
