This vivid three colour suit was originally worn by Diana in Hong Kong with its pagoda crowned hat, where the combination was a compliment to her hosts. It was then later worn for the famous Taj Mahal photo where Diana posed hatless, sad and alone in front of the greatest monument to love on earth. The pagoda crown was later changed to a regular crown. The photo at left shows an occasion when she wore it to the races.
My mother created the first outfit below left for me, but she decided she didn't like the yellow blouse and she made mine white. A friend took pity and made me a yellow one. Diana also has a purple hat, thanks to another talented lady, Judie. I forced the felt crown into keeping the pagoda shape by inserting the bottom circle cut from a plastic mineral water bottle as a support.
With the purple Versace gown outfit, Diana acquired purple shoes to wear with this. I made a golden necklace by using a human sized wire hoop earring. The hat box is courtesy of Kensington Palace chocolates embellished with a golden ribbon.
As an outfit for the FM vinyl doll, I'd like to see it include:
1. Red jacket/Purple skirt
2. Yellow blouse
3. Purple hat with pagoda crown
4. Purple shoes
5. Handbag
6. Gold watch
7. Gold chain necklace
8. Gold twist earrings
The outfits below are from left by my mom, Tommie Peacock, Georgia then, the late Axelle Marion, and Alana Bennett of Doll Fashions by Alana.
