This unusual and eye-catching Catherine Walker suit was worn with the unusual hat to church at St James’ Cathedral in Toronto on the 1991 Canada Royal Tour. It was apparently worn to Austria (?) without the hat, but again I’m having trouble finding the events and dates.
A video on YouTube at about 11:27 alludes to the red spot on the hat being a tribute to Japan's Rising Sun emblem, however I can't find anything that confirms the suit was worn there. The video repeatedly emphasises Catherine Walker's contribution to Diana's
When I first saw it, I found it a bit unattractive, but it has grown on me, even though it’s another one of those “air hostess” type suits that wouldn’t look amiss on a flight attendant for Virgin Atlantic Airways. (replica by Axelle Marion)
