This beautiful & stylish suit by Tomas Starzewski has so many great details with the piping & the buttons. I saw it up close at Althorp and noticed it was made from a very pale cream, almost white knit, although it does appear to be white in photos.
I think the perceived complexity of this outfit put replicators off for a long time. The hat is a tricky, unusual shape. and all that piping detail is very precise. To avoid bulk, the most effective solution for doll scale seems to be to make each piece of the suit in the cream-white fabric, then go back over it with navy chain stitch embroidery to add the illusion of piping. The shoes can be achieved by using white typing correction tape across a pair of the standard FM navy/black pumps.
It's one of my absolute favourites.
As an outfit for the FM vinyl doll, I'd like to see it include:
1. Jacket/Skirt
2. Hat
3. Navy/white accented shoes
4. Dior style quilted handbag
5. Pearls
6. Pearl earrings
