Lot 29 – Blue-Black Halter Gown

Lot 29 is a relatively simple Victor Edelstein blue-black silk crepe column gown, with satin-backed crepe circle halter neckline forming straps that criss-cross at the back. The straps then join the waist in a curve. It was a very sophisticated and pared-down look and very effective. Edelstein’s gowns were usually grander or fussier or both; this straight body-skimming shape and subtle trim is more of a Catherine Walker style.

This was worn to the premiere of Jurassic Park with the emerald and diamond choker and Diana’s long emerald drop earrings.
