This unusual coat and hat took me by surprise as I was unaware of the outfit, other than just a hat shot, until I saw Alana Bennett’s replica on eBay. The ensemble of coat and feathered cap was given to her in Pakistan in 1991 when she was made an honorary scout on a visit to the Chitral Scouts, a militia unit.
The hat’s band has a red accent which is embellished with a badge that holds a perpendicular feather.
William was given a similar coat and Kate a shawl in the same style on a visit in 2019.
