This Jan Van Velden wool maternity coat in very dark navy made an appearance in 1984 on visits to the north of England in Chester and Warrington. The Frederick Fox hat is an unusual shape, but would probably be easy to copy. However because of its unusual shape and its relative obscurity, it wouldn't likely be a popular item.
Frederick Fox was unusual among Diana's milliners. He not only designed for royalty and celebrities, he had a line of sewing patterns for hats and hair ornaments contemporary to this hat. He made quite a few of her more unusual styles, usually leaning to the saucer styles. If the hat had a touch of the outrageous, it was likely a Fox.
There are no replicas of which I'm aware. It's more along the lines of what I'd expect to see for the Danbury Mint Royal Wardrobe Collection, not the FM People's Princess.
As an outfit for the DM vinyl doll, I'd like to see it include:
1. Coat
2. White blouse top
3. Presumably a skirt suit underneath
4. Hat
5. Navy toe capped court shoes
6. White half circle handbag (also carried with another Navy striped suit)
7. Navy gloves
8. Umbrella (despite the sunshine, it's the north of England, she'll need it!)
9. Sapphire single cluster earrings.
