This short sleeved suit by Versace went perfectly with the adorable pink straw pill box hat Diana often chose as an accessory.  It was worn in Argentina as well as for an inspection of Diana's regiment when she fulfilled her "Colonel-in-Chief's" duties.  The double breasted jacket has a short waist line, peter pan collar and two small slits in the back to accommodate walking in the slim pencil skirt.

It was part of a group of outfits Diana planned with her designers to have a Jackie Kennedy vibe. These were minimalist shift dresses and suits with a 60s flavour,  usually in a soft pastel shade and most (but not all) without a hat and worn with neutral shoes and bags

It's an attractive and often copied outfit. Upper right is a hat replica by Sunnybet whose suit is also featured below.  The tiny false buttons even have a golden detail to mimic the buttons on Diana's suit.  The hat has the loveliest pink braid trim, which as you can see in her photo gives an identical effect.

As an outfit for the FM vinyl doll, I'd have liked to have seen it include:

1. Jacket/Skirt

2. Hat

3. Black shoes

4. Black Dior style quilted handbag

5. Gold regimental brooch

6. Gold watch

7. Gold twist earrings
